Funding is drawn from:

The Cairns Regional Council continues to be a
major supporter committing $3 million to TTNQ and tourism marketing under Economic Stimulus for the region in the 2017-18 budget.

Events

  1. Great Barrier Reef Masters Games held for the first time in May had 2000 attendees.
  2.  Cairns Airport Adventure Festival.  (Sports Event)
  3. The opportunity to bid for the Amway China Leadership Seminar for 2019 with more than 6000 delegates has been a major business
events achievement for the year and is supported
by an almost doubling of business events
    inquiries.

TTNQ is further growing the appeal of our
destination with the Timeless Experiences brand
for the region’s Indigenous tourism experiences.
This was launched at the Australian Tourism
Exchange in Sydney and received much interest
from the trade and the media. TTNQ is seeking
funding to assist with marketing and to develop
Indigenous experiences across the region.
We are growing the capability of our industry
through the Australian Small Business Advisory
Services – Northern Australia Tourism Initiative
service. Coordinated by TTNQ, this service
assisted small or intending tourism operators in
developing the tools necessary for their
businesses through workshops in Cairns, Port
Douglas and Mission Beach and individual
mentoring sessions.

Discover the secrets of the Indigenous culture and dreamtime places with guided tours to Echo Falls. A cultural journey into the World Heritage rainforest. Experienced Aboriginal guides will lead you through awe-inspiring rainforest, along crystal clear creeks and tranquil waterholes to the Echo Creek Falls. For thousands of years these routes were important social gatherings of the local tribes and for the seasonal collection of plants and animals. This Queensland Heritage listed 4 hour walk allows you to experience life in the rainforest, learning about Aboriginal uses of flora and fauna, listening to dreamtime stories and visiting sacred story places. Tours run Tuesdays, Thursdays & Saturday or by arrangement.
